KITSCH has been on the wish list the last few months and the KITSCHIER the BETTER!
I was stoked to find these new super kitchsy finds recently from various Op shops around town and while on holidays in Queensland. Apparently an elderly lady had died in my parents area and her knick knack collection was distributed around the various op shops. UNFORTUNATELY I arrived in those op shops to snatch the last remaining few pieces.......I am torturing myself with thoughts of what I have missed out on! Everything I purchased was under $10.
Squirrel and kitty cookie barrels, chipmunk shakers and a new pixie vase for my collection!
A bird wall vase and budgie planter.
And a lustre Angel fish vase and mouse cheese platter!
Miss 12 graduated from Grade 6 last week. We searched high and low for the perfect vintage dress for many months before finally finding this little hot orange number on Etsy. It's a gorgeous 1950's prom dress with 3D flowers, vine and leaves. The skirt is a sheer overlay with matching satin underskirt.
Her beaded encrusted flats we found on our last trip to Hong Kong and hair flower is from my accessories drawer!
30 years ago my dear old Dad had a motorbike accident, which left him a paraplegic. In the early years we had a big celebration every year, a "Still Alive" party and last weekend marked a big 30 year milestone.
Due to time limits my wish of getting a huge 3D wheelchair cake crashed as I realised that bakers just can't accommodate an order 10 days in advance (doh!) but Bree from Breezy's Cakes came to my rescue when she suggested cupcakes instead.
Her shop in Maroochydore QLD is very girly fitted out with a pink and aquamarine theme. You can also stock up on cupcake baking supplies and even take a cupcake decorating crash course! The crab and garden themed cupcakes above were from a recent kids class.
So what did the talented Bree do for my cupcakes? Wheelchairs of course!
Everyone was super thrilled and were sooooo yummy! Dare I say, even nicer the next day?
(I hid 4 of them) I really recommend Bree if you live on the Sunshine Coast for anything cupcake theme related. her prices are very reasonable and she did my order on only 4 days notice.
Has anybody else had custom cakes made and what did you choose?
I did debate whether or not to show these photos, as I had just eaten a 3 course lunch with tapas beforehand and cheese afterwards...go I guess you could say 5 courses..... and my stomach was definitely straining against my outfit. But who knows when we will all be wearing matching outfits again??!
This fun Sci-Fi Rockets print is from Trashy Diva. I am wearing the Annette dress with matching bolero, Miss 12 is wearing the Dixie dress and Miss 5 is wearing the kids rockabilly range. We were definitely head turners!
